Super Bowl Contest Winners Announced

Nearly 150 members of the school community entered our Fourth Annual Super Bowl contest, and approximately 60 percent selected the New England Patriots. The result was improved odds for those who selected the Seattle Seahawks, 29-13 winners. For the third straight year, the high number of entries – a record this year – led to more gift card winners.

Ignatius Palumbo III selected Seattle and prevailed over all others by hitting the total points number (42) right on the button. Spots 2-4 were all one point off that total with the tiebreaker of margin of victory deciding the order. Runner-up Ella Barlow picked up a $5 bonus for making the best pick, offering 29-14 for the final. Mrs. Magner and Mr. Uriano took third and fourth respectively.

The tiebreaker was needed again to settle a mutliple player deadlock for fifth place. Kailey Kouatly wound up surviving that tiebreaker, missing the winning margin by only two points (29-15). Four random winners were also added with two having picked the Patriots and two the Seahawks.

For those who did not do as well as they had hoped, a reassessment of sorts will be offered by The Panther Press when we reach NCAA Final Four time.

Gift cards will be available from your respective English teachers most likely on Wednesday, February 11. Here are the winners:

The Fourth Annual Super Bowl Contest is back with gift cards again at stake. We start with five gift cards available and add more if our numbers increase. In the past two years, we have added several more gift cards as approximately 100 individuals have entered. You must simply be part of our community – students, teachers, staff – to enter.  Gansett is usually our gift card go-to spot. So order up those fries.

First Prize $20 Gift Card

Second Prize: $15 Gift Card

Third Prize $10 Gift Card

Random winners: $10 (2 with one winner having selected the Patriots and one having selected the Seahawks).

Make sure you do the following to submit your pick:

• Predict The Winner and Final Score
• Underneath the pick, confirm the total points and margin of victory – those are the first two tiebreakers with a random drawing being the third.
