Connor McPicks: Bengals by 4

Burrow Will Deliver Again

Connor McCaughey, Staff Writer

For me it’s simple; over the past few weeks the Cincinnati Bengals have proven that they can beat any team they face – even with the odds stacked against them. After 31 years without a playoff win, the Bengals will be representing the AFC on Sunday at the Super Bowl LVI (56) in Los Angeles. They will meet the NFC champion Los Angeles Rams.

The Bengals started off this postseason with a win over the Las Vegas Raiders, then went into Tennessee and knocked off Derrick Henry and the top-seeded Tennessee Titans, before finally punching their ticket to the Super Bowl by going into Arrowhead Stadium and taking down back-to-back AFC Champions, Patrick Mahomes II and the Kansas City Chiefs. Thus, I have no doubt that Joe Burrow can defeat the Los Angeles Rams (who will essentially be playing a home game,) and help the Bengals take home their first Lombardi Trophy.

Something to keep in mind, though, is that the Rams have plenty at stake, too. It has been just three years since their disappointing loss to the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LIII. Many of the same faces are back for the Rams, but they have also added some key pieces since then such as quarterback Matthew Stafford, wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., and defensive end Von Miller.

This should be quite an interesting game. Both teams have a lot to prove and a win could prove to be a crucial turning point for either of the franchises.

I’ll be taking Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals by 4.
